3 Drawer Cart
For those places in your home where the clutter may not
be all that disturbing, and space may be at a premium, your solution could well be a 3 drawer cart. Since these are
units that require less space needed for the drawers, they offer more flexibility in their width and height
dimensions. A cart can be designed to be low and wide, or higher and more narrow. This will give you some choices
you otherwise might not be afforded with other wheeled carts.
If the garage or tool shed is of concern, there are several
makes and models available worthy of your consideration. These handy carts are very convenient alternatives because
they take up little space and can be rolled, under a workbench for example, quite easily. Most will offer guides,
or slides, with ball bearings, so the drawers will move smoothly under the usually heavier weights of the tools.
This means most carts suitable for tool storage are, of course, made of metal. (Rubbermaid may be a company to look
to for an option other than a metal chest.) That certainly does not mean a plastic cart could not be adapted for
the purpose. Just be very careful about the weights they are designed to hold.
Waterloo Industries is an 80 year-old company that has an
interesting marketing plan. They offer steel tool carts in several different colors, including black, blue, brown
and red. If variety would add some spice to your work area, then this company is the one for you. Being of high
quality, made in Wisconsin, and receiving high praises, are all practical reasons to choose one of their tool
carts. They also have taken into consideration the need for some to have the handle on either side of their carts,
so it can be changed over; a simple but, practical idea.
Moving inside the house, if you have some areas that could use
an organizing make-over, and would like a choice other than plastic, wood or steel, there are a couple of companies
that offer very attractive 'thatched' designs. 'Organize It All' offers a pinewood frame with light colored woven
willow basket drawers. You could also choose two darker models made of cornleaf. These would be a nice touch in any
area of your home and could store just about anything you might need put away. The baskets have handles built in
for an easy carry. They also could be used outside of the frame. The frames include a flat top with a rail and come
with castors so they can be moved easily. 'Household Essentials' is another company that offers storage solutions
with woven seagrass, rattan, or wicker drawers, for that natural look. These are made with wire frames, so
technically, not 'carts.' They do deserve consideration for their design and functionality,
though.
'Storage Solutions' is another company that will give you the
option to choose something a little different than the standard fair. They use a steel frame and large cloth
drawers for a very versatile storage solution. One with 3 drawers ships at only 10 pounds and would be perfect for
an apartment or dorm room. If you have, or are planning on, a baby added to the family, one very nice option might
be the "Sleigh Style Changing Table" by 'Badger.' This has a wooden frame with a four-sided safety rail, a changing
table rated to 30 pounds, and comes with a large, pull-out hamper and 3 drawers to keep everything 'baby' handy and
well organized. After the baby has grown, this could continue to be used for toy storage.
If you are not that particular about the materials, finding a 3
drawer cart in wood or plastic, in any number of styles and shades, are readily available at a store near you. If
you don't find what you need, one is just a few days away from delivery when ordered online.
